Volunteer Group
Each Tuesday, a dedicated group of Rhododendron Society members meet at the National Rhododendron Garden at Olinda. This group of volunteers work together on a variety of activities around the garden. Work is performed in an atmosphere where enjoyment and social friendships are the main ingredients.
The work involves many different aspects of horticulture and includes,
- Plant propagation
- Growing plants up to a stage where they can be sold or planted out into the garden.
- Establishing new garden beds and maintaining existing beds.
- Setting up and maintaining the Rhododendron Shows.
Present Members begin arriving at the gardens from around 8am and work till early afternoon. Volunteers are encouraged to work whatever hours they can manage.
New people are welcome and anybody interested would benefit by gaining knowledge from a very experienced band of plant enthusiasts.
Come along and bring a lunch and a pair of secateurs.
